History

Nihon Superior has been a leader in soldering and brazing since it was founded in 1966. We will continue to develop superior products with an eye toward globalization and environmental preservation.

May 1966 Current president Toshiro Nishimura established Nihon Superior Company to market the products of Superior Flux Mfg. & Co. (Ohio, USA) imported by Matsushita Electric Trading Co., Ltd.
Dec. 1966 Formed Nihon Superior Co., Ltd. and began importing and sales of brazing alloys through a partnership with Unibraze Inc., USA.
Feb. 1967 Formed a partnership with Gasflux Co., USA.
Sep. 1969 Formed a partnership with Multicore Solders Ltd., England. Multicore’s solder and flux are approved by the British Self Defense Force and NASA, USA.
Nov. 1969 Completed the construction of a new building for the main office at Mondo Okada-cho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture.
Feb. 1970 Concluded an agency agreement with Matsushita Electric Trading Co., Ltd. for the sales of its related imported products in Southeast Asia as well as Japan.
May 1971 Installed a new type of wire processing machine to produce brazing materials for gas brazing. Increased sales of preformed brazing materials.
Nov. 1972 Completed the construction of company dormitory and warehouse in Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture.
Sep. 1974 Established Superior Kogyo Co., Ltd. as a subsidiary for processing brazing alloys.
Feb. 1977 Moved main office to Esaka Building of Matsushita Electric Trading located at Suita, Osaka. Also completed the construction of a distribution center in Suita.
Mar. 1977 Opened the Tokyo branch.
Sep. 1978 Completed the construction of No. 2 warehouse at the Esaka distribution center.
Nov. 1981 Started distributing micro welders through a partnership with MIG.O.MAT Schweissmachinen GmbH, West Germany.
Dec. 1981 Started distributing the Relmatic Torch through a partnership with Sauvageau, France.
Concluded license agreement with Multicore Solders Ltd., England for local production.
Apr. 1982 Completed Tsuyama Factory in Okayama.
Aug. 1983 Opened the Nagoya Sub-Branch.
Dec. 1984 Developed soldering materials with Cannon, Inc.
Mar. 1985 Began manufacturing and distributing NS Brand Oxide-Free Solder Paste.
Nov. 1985 Completed construction of R&D building at Tsuyama Factory.
Aug. 1987 Started to sell a patented low-melting-point alloy.
Nov. 1987 Moved the distribution center and Superior Kogyo Co., Ltd. to Toyonaka City to expand activities.
Feb. 1988 Established Nihon Superior Trading (S) Pte., Ltd. in Singapore as a joint venture with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.
Oct. 1988 Opened the Koriyama Sub-Branch.
May 1989 Completed construction of a new main office building (NS Bldg.) at Esaka, Suita.
May 1990 Completed construction of a new plant and employee dormitory in Tsuyama.
Oct. 1992 Started to sell a patented thermal fatigue resistant alloy.
Jan. 1993 New no-clean flux developed in partnership with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, Inc. called the NS-501 series. Marketing befins.
Nov. 1993 Nihon Superior Trading (S) Pte., Ltd. began manufacturing solder paste.
Oct. 1995 Established Nihon Superior (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia.
Mar. 1997 Established Kyu Tai Industrial Co., Ltd. in Taiwan as a joint venture.
Jun. 1998 Concluded License Agreement with Iowa State University Research Foundation, Inc. for production of lead-free solders (Sn-Ag-Cu) and started manufacturing & sales of SN96CI.
Mar. 1999 The VCR Division of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. announced its adoption of Nihon Superior’s patented Lead-free solder SN100C for mass production.
Oct. 2000 Established Nihon Superior (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Thailand.
Mar. 2001 Concluded agreement with major world tin refiner Thailand Smelting and Refining Co., Ltd. on OEM production and sales of lead-free Solder SN100C.
Oct. 2001 Established Nihon Superior (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in China and began manufacturing and sales of solder paste.
Feb. 2002 Concluded agreement with Balver Zinn (Germany), the largest solder manufacturer in Europe, on the production and sales of lead-free solder SN100C.
May 2002 Concluded agreement with DKL Metals Ltd. (UK) on production and sales of lead-free solder SN100C.
Aug. 2002 All domestic sites are certified under the ISO 14001 Environment Management System Standard.
Jul. 2003 Agreement with Florida CirTech, Inc. (Colorado, U.S.A.) on the production and sales of lead-free solder SN100C
Aug. 2003 Setting the arrangement to increase the capacity of manufacture of lead-free solder in NIHON SUPERIOR (M) SDN. BHD. By the joint venture with its partner, Balver Zinn
Dec. 2003 Established Nihon Superior (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. in Taiwan.
Jan. 2004 Established Nihon Superior (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai China.
Jun. 2004 Mr.Tetsuro Nishimura took up the position of president, and Mr.Toshiro Nishimura took up the position of chairman.
Jun. 2004 Opened a Technical Center at Osaka headquarters.
Aug. 2004 Obtained Certification to the ISO9001:2000 Quality Management System standard.
Mar. 2005 Won the 15th Annual New Business Award for excellent work.
Feb. 2006 Estabilished Nihon Superior USA Llc. In the United States of America.
Jul. 2006 Established Nihon Superior (Hong Kong) Limited in Hong Kong.
Sep. 2006 Completed construction of Osaka Distribution Center in Toyonaka City.
Feb. 2010 Established Nihon Superior (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. Indonesia Representative Office in Indonesia.
May 2010 Established Representative of Nihon Superior (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Hanoi in Vietnam.
Jun. 2011 Established Representative of Nihon Superior (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Dongguan Branch in China.
Jun. 2011 Established Nihon superior (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Dongguan Branch in China.
May 2014 Established Nihon Superior Asia Sdn. Bhd. (NSA) in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
